The Army Benevolent Fund is committed to the welfare of Regular and Territorial Army personnel, those who are no longer serving, and their families, when they are in real need.
The Army Families Federation (AFF) is a registered charity that acts as a unique two-way communications link between the British Army and its families.
British Limbless Ex-serviceman's Association (BLESMA) BLESMA is a National Charity specifically for Limbless and Ex-Service Men and Women, their dependants and Widows. The objectives of the Association are to promote the welfare of all those who have lost a limb or limbs or one or both eyes as a result of service to their country and to assist their dependants.
Combat Stress Ex-services Mental Welfare Society The Ex-services Mental Welfare Society, also known as Combat Stress, is the only charity dedicated to giving care, comfort and reassurance, backed by skilled clinical support, to men and women of all ranks and all services suffering from varying degrees of mental illness as a result of traumatic battle experiences.
Charity which helps our current serving members who have been injured in Iraq/Afghanistan.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea has provided a home for old soldiers since 1692. It provides sheltered housing, as well as care home facilities, with comprehensive medical cover, board and lodging. All former soldiers are eligible if they are aged over 65, are in receipt of an Army pension or War Disability pension for Army service (which is surrendered on entry) and free of any obligation to support a spouse or family.
Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA) SSAFA is a national charity helping serving and ex-Service men, women and their families in need. It is committed to helping people in need, suffering or distress, regardless of age or condition.
The Single Persons Accommodation Centre for the Ex-Services (SPACES) is designed to help single ex-regulars to find appropriate accommodation when they leave the Service. Through this service the project reduces the likelihood of ex-services personnel becoming homeless or sleeping rough after discharge.
