Gift For Service Fieldwork Publications is a non-profit voluntary organisation which aims to promote public education and appreciation of individuals who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, the Police, Fire, Rescue, Ambulance and National Health Services through the creative arts.
We also publish inspirational books for those valued individuals which we donate to them with the help of the public and organisations. For 2007 and the first half of 2008, we are concentrating on donating our giftbooks to serving members in the Middle East. For the forthcoming Veterans' Day in June 2008, we would particularly like to send giftbooks to Commonwealth and Ghurkha veterans through their associated charities/organisations here in the UK. Some of our books have also been donated to coalition US veterans and wounded service members via members of the public and faith-based organisations.
At present, we are raising funds to write, publish, distribute and donate more giftbooks for the other services named, as a way of showing our appreciation for their work.
Fieldwork Publications also aims to publish prose/poetry from members/veterans of the above named services as one unique way of helping to raise awareness and appreciation of the work these members do through the creative arts.
Everyone associated with Fieldwork Publications works in a completely voluntary way and have raised all the funds necessary for the publication and free distribution of books. We are aiming for charity status in 2008. |
